Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Listen2 ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.
Description of Service
Listen2 is a text-to-speech application that converts PDFs, EPUBs, and text documents into spoken audio using neural TTS voices. The App:
- Processes all documents locally on your device
- Provides text-to-speech playback with word/sentence highlighting
- Allows downloading of additional voice models
- Works primarily offline (network only required for voice downloads)
Purchase and Payment
Free Trial
Listen2 offers a 7-day free trial starting from your first use of the App. During the trial, you have full access to all features.
One-Time Purchase
After the trial ends, continued use of TTS features requires a one-time purchase of $24.99 USD (or equivalent in your local currency). This is a lifetime purchase:
- No subscription fees - pay once, own forever
- No recurring charges - your purchase never expires
- All current features - full access to TTS playback and all voices
- Future updates - included at no additional cost
Payment Processing
All purchases are processed through the Apple App Store. Moonquake Media does not collect, store, or have access to your payment information. Purchases are subject to Apple's App Store terms and conditions.
Refunds
Refund requests must be made through Apple. We do not process refunds directly. Visit Apple's support page for refund requests.
License Grant
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Moonquake Media grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:
- Download and install the App on devices you own or control
- Use the App for personal, non-commercial purposes
- Access and use features according to your purchase status (trial or purchased)
Restrictions
You agree NOT to:
- Copy, modify, or distribute the App
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Remove any copyright or proprietary notices
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to circumvent trial or purchase verification
- Redistribute App assets (excluding open-source voice models)
- Use the App to infringe on others' intellectual property rights
Your Content
Document Ownership
You retain all rights to documents you import into Listen2. The App does not claim any ownership of your content.
Content Responsibility
You are solely responsible for the content you import and listen to. The App can read any text you provide, and you agree not to use it with content that:
- Infringes on others' copyrights or intellectual property
- Is unlawful in your jurisdiction
- Violates any third-party rights
Local Processing
All document processing occurs locally on your device. We do not access, read, store, or transmit your documents.
Third-Party Components
Piper TTS
Listen2 uses Piper, an open-source text-to-speech system. Piper voices are distributed under open-source licenses. By downloading voices, you agree to their respective licenses.
Other Libraries
The App may include other open-source components. Their licenses are included within the App bundle.
Disclaimers
"As Is" Provision
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Merchantability
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Non-infringement
- Accuracy or reliability of TTS output
TTS Quality
Text-to-speech output may contain:
- Pronunciation errors
- Unusual intonations
- Misread words or numbers
The App is not suitable for applications requiring perfect speech accuracy.
Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:
- Moonquake Media shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App
- We are not liable for any loss of data, documents, or content
Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Moonquake Media from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:
- Your use of the App
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
- Content you import into the App
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
Termination
We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe:
- Violates these Terms
- Is harmful to other users
- Is harmful to our business interests
Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
