Agreement to Terms

By downloading, installing, or using GigShed ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.

Description of Service

GigShed is an on-device practice tool for musicians, for iPhone and iPad. The App helps you learn songs you already own by:

All processing runs locally on your device. The App works offline and stores your data on your device.

Purchase and Payment

Free to Start

GigShed is free to download and use. Every feature works in the free version; the free tier is limited to a set number of songs (your first 5 songs).

GigShed Pro Upgrade

Unlimited songs are available through an optional one-time in-app purchase ("GigShed Pro"):

Payment Processing

All purchases are processed through the Apple App Store. Moonquake Media does not collect, store, or have access to your payment information. Purchases are subject to Apple's App Store terms and conditions.

Refunds

Refund requests must be made through Apple. We do not process refunds directly. Visit Apple's support page for refund requests.

Beta Software

GigShed may be made available to you as a pre-release ("beta") version, including through Apple's TestFlight program. Beta versions are provided for testing and may contain bugs, may change, and may be unstable. Use beta software at your own risk and keep backups of any work that matters to you. Your use of TestFlight is also subject to Apple's TestFlight terms.

License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, Moonquake Media grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to:

Restrictions

You agree NOT to:

Your Content and the Music You Import

You Provide Your Own Audio

GigShed only works with audio files you already have. The App does not stream, download, or search for music, and it does not provide any music. You must supply audio you have the legal right to use.

Your Responsibility

You are solely responsible for the audio, lyrics, and other content you import into or create with the App. You represent that you have the necessary rights to any material you use with the App, and you agree not to use it with content that:

Practicing and preparing copyrighted music for your own use may be permitted in your jurisdiction; distributing derivative outputs (such as exported audio or charts) may not be. You are responsible for understanding and complying with the law that applies to you.

Ownership

You retain all rights to the projects, charts, and edits you create in GigShed. The App does not claim any ownership of your content.

Local Processing

All data is stored and processed locally on your device. We do not access, read, store, or transmit your audio or your projects. See our Privacy Policy for details, including the single optional, off-by-default feature that can send chart text (never audio) to a cloud AI service if you explicitly enable it.

Third-Party Services

Apple App Store

When you purchase the GigShed Pro upgrade, the transaction is processed entirely by Apple. We do not collect or have access to any payment information.

Companion App

GigShed can hand a chart to GigScroll, our companion teleprompter app, through a shared on-device container. This is a local hand-off; no data is sent to us.

Disclaimers

"As Is" Provision

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

Automated Results Are Approximate

Stem separation, automatic lyric transcription, beat/tempo detection, and chord detection are produced by machine-learning models and are approximations. They will contain errors — automatic lyric transcription of sung vocals in particular is imperfect. GigShed is designed around a "draft, then correct" workflow: you are expected to review and fix the results. You are responsible for verifying and correcting any output before relying on it, especially for performance.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Moonquake Media from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App at any time, without notice, for conduct that we believe:

Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
